| Welcome back from spring break. We'll be having our usual Friday night meetings, at the Terrace Lounge in the campus center at 8pm. (Friday 04/13/2007) The semester is dwindling down, there's only about 5 weeks left, that'll amount to only 4 meetings counting tomorrow's. And with this we'll be looking for some new officers to continue the club for the following fall and spring semesters (and maybe the years to follow). if you are interested, please let us know, or post about it on our forums. | happy new year! a few changes has happened to the website of Anime Gamers Alliance, the most important is one that would not be noticed easily is the transfer to a new host, which is good news for everyone, tho i wish something better could be done about the bots crawling this site. the shout box is no longer available, as there's been multiple reports of other parts of the website being hacked, suspected to be traced back to the shout box scripts. maybe a new one will be installed, maybe not. the calendar page is no longer active. one less thing to update and one less resource to take up. i m not sure what happened, but a few files were missing after the host transfer and it wasn't working anymore anyways, so it's just totally removed. PS: looking forward to another fun semester! |
| This week's meeting will be Friday night, December 1, at 7:00pm, at our usual beloved location of the Empire Commons. We'll be watching the 2-part season finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender at 8pm, followed by the first dvd volume (subbed) of Mahou Sensei Negima, free from Funimation. Also, all systems are especially encouraged this week. Everything from the Wii as far back as the NES, and from any company. If you have the Wii or the 'cube in particular though, please bring extra controllers. |

As always, for our halloween meetings, Costumes are encouraged but not required. also a note from our president: "As always, my challenge of 'If you make me a costume that fits, I'll wear it.' stands. | I posted in the forums about definately holding a gaming contest in november. Smash bros being the current idea. Hopefully at the end of november, so we can get this on the calendar with student events and publicize. Click here to jump to forum topic Also a movie showing would be good in the same month. With this we wouldnt have to spend anything from budget and just to promote the club and get another event under our belt. This will be discussed on friday among other topics. |
| This week's meeting will be at the Empire Commons Community Building, in the open lounge area. We'll be showing the first dvd of Samurai 7, which we received free from Funimation's "Operation Anime" club support program. After the showing, depending on a group vote, we can either keep the volume to be sold off later, be placed in a club library, or we can auction it off to club members that night. (Start at five dollars, bids can be augmented in fifty cent portions.) I'm also putting together a list of all the free dvds available from Operation Anime, and should have it posted in the forums as soon as their website is working correctly again. As last week, whatever systems, games, controllers, manga, anime, and whatever other media anyone wants to bring is not just allowed, but encouraged. Last week's turnout of equipment was awesome, and I was thrilled to see the extra-large turnout having such a good time. I'll be bringing snacks and drinks, and as always, our courtesy system of donations is in place. The more everyone can give, the closer we are to our goal of travelling to AnimeNorth for free. And even if that never pans out, we'll have the goods for one heck of a year-end party next May. (: |
